Sessions 1 and 2 (ages 10-18)
Students are matched 1-to-1 with a mentor from the professional creative services industry. Classes are led by an experienced special education teacher, with additional supervisory staff including creative directors and paraprofessionals providing support. Students also take time for art therapy breaks.

Each student/mentor creative team works on an 18” x 24” poster, from initial sketches through assembly using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Students will have the option to apply a conservation theme to promote the protection of animals and natural resources, with a possible option of sharing their art in the local community. In addition to completing the class with an expanded baseline of software design tools and a colorful poster, students will leave with intangibles that are far more important—a collaborative experience, sharing and presentation opportunities, conversation, friendship, and most of all, confidence. Visit www.ausm.org for participant expectations.
